Meditations Monday

Reflections on the Rosary:  The Joyful Mysteries

The Annunciation:  Mary gave her fiat, her unconditional acceptance of the Divine Will, to God through His messenger, the Angel Gabriel.  Will we say "yes" to the voice of the Holy Spirit in our hearts?  Will we accept our vocation and all the trials of life trusting that God will bring all together for our spiritual benefit?

The Visitation: Elizabeth greeted Mary with respect as she was the Mother of God and her womb was the sacred Temple of Jesus' Body.  How do we treat our neighbors who are, themselves, temples of the Holy Spirit?  Do our own actions reflect the presence of the Holy Spirit that is (or should be) living within us?

The Nativity of Our Lord:  Joseph and Mary searched for a place to stay in Bethlehem for Jesus' birth, but no one would make room to give them shelter.  Have we made room in our hearts for Jesus?  Does our lifestyle turn Jesus away from us instead of furnishing a house of grace for Him to dwell in?

The Presentation of Our Lord: The Holy Family brought Jesus to the Temple where He was circumcised and they offer two doves as a sacrifice to God.  Will we act according to the traditions and, especially, the obligations of Holy Mother Church?  Do we offer our daily trials to the Lord in honor of His goodness to us?

The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple: When Jesus was found to be absent from His parents' company, Joseph and Mary found Him in Jerusalem teaching in the Temple of His Father.  Do we have the courage to search for Jesus in our lives?  Are our minds conformed to the daily way of life we are meant to live as Catholics?  Will we spend an hour of our time adoring the Lord in His house?
