2012 Contest!

Greetings to all!  Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!  The staff of Saint Cecelia's Press are happy to announce the arrival of the 2012 contest.  For those of you who are new to the newsletter contest, here are the rules:

• Adults as well as kids are encouraged to participate
• An entry may be a composition or an art project
• Each contestant can enter as many entries as they want
• Entries must be original
• Entries must be Christian based
• Entries can be from school projects as long as the contestants have their teacher's permission to submit them
• Art entries can consist of a picture of a 3D object
• Composition entries may be poems, stories, or essays
• If you are not sure if your project is acceptable as an entry or not, feel free to email our staff
• Entries may be sent to Saint Cecilia's Press by mail or by email
• The deadline for all entries is May 5th

Winners will receive a special prize in the mail for their projects!

Introduction
Welcome to the Saint Cecelia and All Martyrs Press online site!  This blog site is designed for newsletter subscribers to have the ability to interact with one another.  Please visit the "Who We Are" page for blog instructions and regulations.  I hope you all have fun on this site!

Why?
First of all, I wanted the ability to easily interact with all of you!  Simply having your impute on the newsletter such as which articles you like best, which articles you would like more of, or maybe some suggestions for change, are very beneficial in my abilities to bring the newsletter to you.  Second, unfortunately, we are short of funds.  The cost of monthly publication exceeds the subscription with the rising cost of postage, paper, and ink.  Rather than raise the subscription, the newsletter will be sent out bi-monthly and the blog will be ongoing - without any additional charge! 

What will there be?
In addition to the regular newsletter articles that can be viewed on the carbon copy, there will be articles of simillar kinds on the online site.  I hope to have the Sunday readings, the feast day readings, and saint days for each month.  The will also be featured extra coloring/activity pages.  Other than that, I will post any extra pieces I can in my free time. 

What do I do?
This blog was created for subscriber interaction!  Please comment at your convenience and as often as possible!  I want to have at least two subscriber-entered pieces per month.  This may seem like a lot, but school work, artwork, or fun articles you found interesting will suffice!  If you have a piece you would like published that is too long to remain in the comments section, then you can email me via the address printed on the carbon copy of the newsletter.

More computer...?
A subscriber raised the issue to me that their children already spend too much time on the internet.  I agree that the internet is overused and limits the imagination.  (And just the simple pleasure of receiving mail!)  I suggest that you print off the articles and especially the activity pages so that your children can still hold it in their hands.  Nevertheless, I do think that this could be a good opportunity for children to participate in a safe environment where they can gain computer skills through a Faith-based site.

"What now?"  Start sending in your work!  I hope that this will be a fun-filled experience for all of us!
